TULANE LAUNCHES JP-LOSMAN.COM
Losman, a top candidate for All-America honors, as well as a selection to preseason Watch Lists for the Davey O'Brien Quarterback Award and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, has opened his senior season with a flourish. The Green Wave signal-caller has completed 109-of-171 (63.7%) passes for a national-best 1,355 yards. He also leads the nation with 15 touchdown passes while having just three interceptions. In each of the Wave's four games this year, Losman has thrown for 300 or more yards, leading the team to a 3-1 record.
"J.P. has been one of the most consistent players, not only here, but in the country," Tulane head coach Chris Scelfo said. "If he can continue to get help, he is on track to have an outstanding year."
In addition to his overall stats, Losman has been phenomenal in the fourth quarter. In his first four games, he has used the final stanza as his own personal domain, completing 74.2 percent of his passes for 615 yards, nine touchdowns and just one interception. His quarterback rating for the fourth quarter alone is an astounding 202.19.
Losman hot start has not gone unnoticed. SI.com has listed the senior as one of five players on its Heisman Watch List, while Mel Kiper, Jr., credits Losman as one of the top two senior quarterbacks in the upcoming draft. Last spring, Losman was rated as the No. 2 senior quarterback in the country by the National Football Scouting Service, one of the two combine services used by the NFL.
The website launch for Losman gives the Green Wave two players with official websites. Losman joins senior running back Mewelde Moore and the site www.MeweldeMoore.net.
