Unofficial observers reported to TI Friday that Tulane is hosting 11 football prospects on official visits to the uptown campus.

Four of the prospects reported to be visiting are Jordan Ellis, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker from St. Stanislaus High School in Bay St. Louis, Miss.; quarterback Clifford Harris, a 5-foot-10, 205-pound athlete from Higgins High School in Marrero, La., who could project at several positions as a collegian; Sean Carney, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end from Dallas, Texas, Jesuit High School; and Brian King, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver from Slidell High School.

And Houston, Texas, high school sources indicated today that Chris Moore, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound defensive end from Jersey Village High School, may be among the other visitors to the Green Wave this weekend. Jersey Village coach David Snuchaus could not be reached for confirmation of Moore's visit.

Moore has three former Jersey Village Falcon teammates already on the Green Wave roster in freshmen freshman running back Adeboye Tuyo, freshman tight end Gabe Ratcliff and freshman strong safety Joe Goosby.

Two other prospects who had been expected to visit this weekend, wide receiver Johnny Belt, 6-foot-3, 195-pounds from Luella High School in Locust Grove, Ga., and defensive tackle Jeff Wheeler, 6-foot-7, 245-pounds from Clear Lake High School, in Houston, Texas, postponed their official visits.

According to Luella High head football coach Paul Burgdorf, Belt postponed his visit because he is retaking the ACT Saturday.

Wheeler's coach at Clear Lake, Troy Aduddell told TI that Jeff postponed his visit because Clear Lake will be in action in the Texas 5-A playoffs Saturday.

And sources in Tallahassee, Fla, confirmed for TI this morning that Oregon cornerback Ryan Gilliam, 5-foot-9, 158-pounds, has left the University of Oregon and plans to transfer to Tulane University.
