Greenies Practice In Full Pads For First Time

Posted Aug 15, 2006

The Greenies will take the field twice tomorrow, with practice sessions scheduled at 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Practice will continue with single sessions through the end of the week, with a full scrimmage scheduled Saturday afternoon.

The Green Wave football team practiced for the first-time in full pads Wednesday morning in fairly moderate conditions.

The team continued to show enthusiasm though they were hitting at full speed for the first time since camp began. At this point the Green Wave is entering the phase of camp in which determinations are made on who's going to play.

Portions of the practice were spent on goal line and special teams work in addition to 7-on-7 and 9-on-9 pass skeleton drills.

After the end of the regular practice session, the team continued it's post-practice conditioning work.

The Greenies will take the field twice tomorrow, with practice sessions scheduled at 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Practice will continue with single sessions through the end of the week, with a full scrimmage scheduled Saturday afternoon.
