Elliott To Be Named Starting Quarterback

The Green Wave took Sunday off and will return to the practice field Monday, Aug. 20, for a single session beginning at 3:35 p.m.<

Sources close to the Tulane football program are indicating that Scott Elliot has been named the Green Wave's starting quarterback for the season opener against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, Sept. 8.

A public announcement is expected shortly.

Elliott had been in a battle for the starting job with Kevin Moore, a redshirt freshman, and Anthony Scelfo, a redshirt sophomore.

Known as Scooter, Elliot made all three of his career starts in 2005, and has played in a total of 13 games and completed 61 of 122 attempts for 647 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions in his career.

Scott threw for more than 7,400 yards in high school.

The Green Wave will open the regular season with a game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, Sept. 8. Kick off is at 6 p.m.
