Tulane University hosts Conference USA foe Texas-El Paso Saturday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. in
the Louisiana Superdome. Tulane, 2-7 overall and 1-4 in C-USA play, will be playing for pride
and saying good-bye to 14 seniors.
Led by senior running back Matt Forte, the nation's leading rusher with a total of 1,642 yards, the Green Wave averages 386.1 yards of total offense per game. Forte also leads the team with 15 touchdowns and ranks second on the team with 26 pass receptions for 200 yards.
Tulane's total offense yardage total breaks down to 203.2 rushing yards, and 182.9 passing
yards per game.
Meanwhile, UTEP averages 436.4 yards of total offense per game; or 168.4 yards rushing,
and 268 yards passing.
Defensively, Tulane has allowed an average of 423.8 yards per game: or 138.3 yards rushing,
and 285.4 yards passing.
Defensively, the Miners are giving up an average of 502.7 yards of total offense per game,
which breaks down to 183.4 yards passing, and 319.2 yards passing.
UTEP's offense is sparked by redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Vittatoe, who's defying
the CW on first-year starting quarterbacks. Vittatoe a redshirt-freshman, leads the Miner
offense by throwing for 2,211 yards snd 21 touchdowns with just three interceptions on
157-of-285 passing.
UTEP will attempt to shut down the Tulane rushing game, while the Green Wave defense will be striving to quiet the potent Miner passing attack.
