Memphis Proves No. 1 Ranking

Memphis (26-0, 12-0) proved why they were the top ranked team in the nation, defeating the Green Wave (15-10, 5-6) 97-71 before a packed house at Fogelman Arena. The Tigers held an advantage in every statistical category despite a valiant effort by the out-matched Green Wave.

Guard Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 20 first half points leading the Tigers to a 46-27 lead at the break. Douglas-Roberts finished with a game-high 29 points.

Tulane was led by senior forward David Gomez with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Robinson Louisme added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore point guard Kevin Sims contributed 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
