Men's Hoops Drops Fifth Straight

Tulane (15-11, 5-7) lost its fifth consecutive game to Southern Miss (15-10, 7-5) Saturday at Fogelman Arena. The Green Wave led 47-46 with 12:31 remaining, but ran out of gas, in the 70-59 loss.

Tulane trailed by only 4, 57-53 with less than five minutes remaining, but did not hit another field goal until only 8 seconds remained on the clock. The Green Wave were unable to contain USM's Jeremy Wise who scored a game-high 27 points.

Tulane was led by guard Kris Richard who recorded career-highs in points with 15 and assists with 6. He also made 5 rebounds, two steals, and blocked a shot while committing no turnovers. Point guard Kevin Sims led Tulane in scoring with 17 points and added 3 assists. Reserve guard Johnny Mayhane had 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
