The star of the night Friday for the Green Wave was sophomore starting pitcher Shooter Hunt. Hunt was dominant pitching 7.0 innings of one-hit baseball, recording 11 strikeouts.
Tulane dropped the second game of the series 7-3 Saturday as the Green Wave stranded 10 baserunners, seven in scoring position. Tulane also committed 3 errors on the afternoon. Leftfielder/second baseman Anthony Scelfo led the Green Wave attack going 1-for-1 with a home run, 3 walks, one run, and 2 rbi.
Tulane dropped Sunday's contest 5-1 as the Anteaters got on the board early with a 2-run homerun from Francis Larson in the first inning. UC-Irvine added 2 more in the fifth to take an insurmountable 4-0 lead.
Tulane returns to action Tuesday, March 11, against Northwestern State at 6 p.m. at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
