Tulane Falls To #2 Memphis In Quarterfinals

Tulane (17-15) fell to the #2 Memphis Tigers (31-1) in the quarterfinal round of the Conference USA Tournament 75-56 Thursday night. Tulane was led by senior forward David Gomez, who scored a game-high 18 points.

The Tigers held a decisive advantage on the boards 43-28 while the Green Wave committed 23 fouls to only 10 for the Tigers. Tulane fell behind early and trailed Memphis 36-22 at the half. Tulane was unable to close within 13 points in the second half.

Gomez was very efficient hitting 8-for-12 from the field, recording 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Center Robinson Louisme added 13 points. Point guard Kevin Sims scored 9 points, in addition to grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists.
