LSU (12-6) scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to send the Green Wave (13-6) to defeat Wednesday night at Alex Box Stadium. Tiger second baseman Ryan Schimpf landed the deciding blow with a three-run triple to give the Tigers the lead.

Tulane led 5-2 after 5 1/2 innings when freshman reliever Nick Pepitone came in for starter Jonathan Garrett. Pepitone suffered the worst outing of his collegiate career giving up 2 hits, 2 walks, and 4 runs while failing to record an out.

Garrett, pitched 5.0 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs while recording 4 strikeouts. Offensively, the Green Wave was led by second baseman Anthony Scelfo who went 2-for-3 with 2 walks, one run, and one rbi. Shortstop Seth Henry went 2-for-4 with a double, one run, and one rbi.

Tulane returns to action Friday, March 21, at 6 p.m. as the Green Wave hosts Sacred Heart.
