Sophomore Taylor Rogers (1-0) pitched five strong innings to record the win, striking out a career-high 6 Cowboy batters. Offensively, centerfielder Aja Barto was 3-for-5 with a triple and one rbi. First baseman Drew Allain was efficient at the plate and on the base path, going 1-for-2 with 3 walks, a double, 2 stolen bases, 3 runs, and 2 rbi.
Wednesday saw impressive performances by freshman starting pitcher Robby Broach (4-1) and second baseman Anthony Scelfo. Broach finished the night allowing only 4 hits and one run in 6 innings of work. He also recorded a career-high 9 strikeouts. Scelfo was 3-for-5 with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored and five rbi. Reserve catcher Steve Moritz also had a big night at the plate going 2-for-3 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 2 rbi.
Tulane returns to action Friday night at 6 p.m. in the opening game of a three-game series against CUSA foe Marshall.
