| Green Takes Two In Abbreviated Series | ||||

Tulane (29-13-1, 8-5-1) got its offense going in an abbreviated weekend series against the Memphis Tigers (16-27, 4-10). Tulane took the first two games 17-4 and 15-3, before Sunday's finale was cancelled due to inclimate weather. In the first two games Tulane batted .368 as a team going 32-for-87, while Green Wave pitchers held Memphis to a .177 team batting average. | ||||

Green Wave ace Shooter Hunt (7-1) got things started with an impressive 7 inning start, recording 12 strikeouts. Nick Pepitone recorded 3 strikeouts in the eighth. Offensively, centerfielder Anthony Scelfo went 3-for-6 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 5 rbi. Designated hitter Andrew Rodgers also hit a 3-run homerun. Saturday Matt Petiton improved his record to 5-0, while the Green Wave outhit Memphis 18-5 in the 15-3 victory. Scelfo was again impressive at the plate, going 5-for-6 with two doubles, a stolen base, 5 runs, and an rbi. Andrew Rodgers was 3-for-5 with a double, two runs, and an rbi. Third baseman Rob Segedin went 3-for-4 with a double, one walk, one run, and 2 rbi. Tulane returns to action Tuesday, April 29th, against Nicholls State at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. |
