Tulane jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first inning, but UNO responded with 3 runs in the third and fifth innings. Sophomore starter Taylor Rogers (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season for the Green Wave.
Wednesday, Tulane bounced back against Southern in Baton Rouge 10-3. Junior starter Jonathan Garrett (3-2) had a strong outing facing only 31 Jaguar batters in a 95-pitch complete-game performance. After 3 innings, Tulane led 6-0 and never looked back. Offensively, second baseman Seth Henry was 2-for-5 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 3 rbi. Designated hitter Andrew Rodgers was 2-for-5 with his 10th homerun of the season, one run, and 2 rbi. Centerfielder Anthony Scelfo also hit his tenth homerun of the season Wednesday night.
Tulane returns to action tonight at 6 p.m. against East Carolina in Greenville, North Carolina.
