Tulane Rebounds Against UCF

Tulane (37-19-1) came from behind to take a 5-2 victory over Central Florida (31-27) Friday morning in the 2008 Entergy Conference USA Championship Tournament. Freshman Rob Segedin (1-1) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings in relief to capture the win while second baseman Seth Henry put the game out of reach with a 2-run homerun in the ninth.

Tulane trailed 2-0 after five innings, but the Green Wave loaded the bases in the sixth and catcher Jared Dyer tied things up with a 2-run single. In the eigth inning leftfielder Scott Powell plated Rob Segedin with an rbi fielder's choice to give Tulane the lead 3-2. Henry's 2-run homerun in the ninth secured the Green Wave's 5-2 victory.

Green Wave starter Matt Petiton gave up 2 runs on 7 hits while recording 5 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

Tulane will return to action Saturday, May 24, at 9 a.m. against Marshall.
