Green Wave Takes Road Win Over ECU, 65-56

Despite going cold and shooting just 7-of-26 from the floor in the second half the Green Wave held on for the win. In a reversal of their efforts in recent games, Tulane was 16-of-18 from the free-throw line to close out the game. Overall, the Green Wave made 20-of-23 free throw attempts in the game.

The Tulane Green Wave took a 65-56 win over the East Carolina Pirates in a Conference USA game at Williams Arena in Greenville, N.C. Wednesday evening.

Tulane's Donnie Stith came out of a season-long funk to score 15 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Green Wave.

Tulane's record moves to 8-7 overall, and 1-2 in C-USA, ECU's record falls to 5-11 overall and 0-3 in C-USA.

David Gomez added 12 points in the win, which snapped a three-game losing streak for head coach Dave Dickerson's five. Matt Wheaton also added nine points and grabbed eleven rebounds for the Green Wave.

The Pirates were led by John Fields who scored a game-high 17 points, and Darrell Jenkins and Brandon Evans added 13 points each for ECU which has lost 10 of its last 11 games.

Tulane took a 33-25 lead at the break, as the Wave shot 12-of-28 in the opening half.

Tulane had the advantage off the bench as the Green Wave reserves outscored the Pirates bench, 29-17.

Tulane resumes action Saturday, Jan. 20, as the Wave will tipoff against C-USA foe Marshall at 7:30 p.m. in Fogleman Arena.
