| Tulane Destroys Oakland

Tulane improved its record to 13-5 after a dominating performance against Oakland University this weekend in a 3-game series at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The Green Wave swept the Golden Grizzlies by a combined score of 38-0. Tulane opened the series with a 3-0 win Friday night. Ace starter Shooter Hunt improved his record to 3-0, pitching 8 strong innings and striking out 10 Grizzlies while giving up only 2 hits. Reliever Mason Griffin pitched a shutout ninth inning to capture his third save of the season. Offensively, the Green Wave was led by leftfielder Warren McFadden who went 2-for-2 with 2 walks, a double, a stolen base, one run scored and one rbi. Saturday, Tulane scored a season-high 19 runs while recording the second consecutive shutout of the weekend. Winning pitcher Aaron Loup (1-1) pitched 7.0 innings, recording 5 strikeouts while giving up 5 hits. Catcher Jared Dyer went 3-for-4 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 3 rbi. Designated hitter Andrew Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 3 rbi. First Baseman Sam Honeck went 3-for-4 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 4 rbi. Tulane closed the series with another shutout and another offensive explosion, 16-0. Five Tulane pitchers combined for a 6-hit shutout. Freshman starting pitcher Robbie Broach improved his record to 2-1 with the win. Rightfielder Scott Powell went 3-for-5 with a homerun, two stolen bases, 2 runs, and 3 rbi. Second baseman Seth Henry finished the day, 3-for-5 with a double, 2 homeruns, 3 runs, and 3 rbi.
