| One of the bellcows of the secondary, Lucas
was a surprise as a true freshman nickle back when all he did was start a pair of games, make 54 tackles, record 8 pass breakups, make 2 interceptions and returning them both for touchdowns and return a fumble for another touchdown. Started all 12 games for the Wave in 2003; four at right corner, six at left corner and two at free safety. Was one of just seven players to start all 12 games. In his career has played in a total of 25 games and has made 14 starts; has made 7 interceptions and has broken up a total of 13 passes. Named to All C-USA 3d Team after last season and reportedly had a really good spring. Lucas is a playmaker and, given improved pressure on opposing quarterbacks from the defensive front, Tulane fans will see the kind of plays Sean made as a freshman in 2002 again in 2004. |
