| Biography: |
| Smaller than the ideal defensive end but ultra quick. Quickness and competitiveness
led to his earning a job as a starter at one defensive end coming out of spring 2006, but was in a battle to hold onto the starting job in pre-season camp.
Played in all 11 games and made 8 tackles as a true freshman in 2005.
Chose Tulane over Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Northwestern (Ill.), Notre Dame, and Stanford.
One of the Dallas Morning News Top 100 area recruits. Was a unanimous choice for first team All-District 10-5A honors for the district champs in their first season competing against public schools.
Kid's Comments: "I've trained my butt off for the past three years to be at this level. You find a kid that outworks me and I promise you I will outwork him that next day. I have a motor that does not quit, and my coaches can attest to the fact that I will put my nose into that ground."
Made 78 tackles with 17 tackles for loss and five quarterback sacks as a senior. Credited with 16 quarterback pressures, forced two fumbles and recovered two more.
Recorded eight sacks, twelve quarterback pressures, and 49 solo tackles (13 for loss) as a junior.
Had a 3.5 GPA and scored an 1120 on his first attempt on the SAT.
