| Jerome Landry, the Green Wave's senior tight end, has played a role on offense for years, although he's only started 5 games in his career.
Now entering his fifth season, Jerome was the second tight end on the Green Wave's Hawaii Bowl team in 2002. Although, he made only three catches that season two went for touchdowns.
This season Jerome replaces long time starter Bobby Hoover as the starter and the Green Wave running game will be in good shape if Jerome equals Bobby as a blocker.
2003 saw Jerome get the most playing time of his career, as Hoover missed that season with a broken leg, leaving J as the only tight end available for the entire season.
2004 saw the tight end tables turn as Hoover returned and Jerome missed the entire
season with a severe knee injury.
Jerome was slow in coming back from the knee injury, but managed to play in 10 games and get 1 start in 2005.
Altogether Jerome has recorded career totals of 13 catches for 107 yards and 3 touchdowns.
When spring practice ended, Jerome was listed first on the depth chart, although
junior Gabe Ratcliff, and sophomore Justin Kessler are shown as co-starters.
A graduate of Holy Cross High School and a resident of St. Bernard parish, Jerome experienced the worst of the effects of Hurricane Katrina. |
